Details
The Domaine Armand Rousseau is rooted in the early twentieth century when Armand Rousseau, at the age of 18 and coming from a family of small owners, mainly made up of winemakers, coopers and local wine merchants, found himself inheriting several plots. of vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin. Armand's wedding in 1909 provides him with further prestigious vineyards, as well as some of the premises of the current Domaine, located near the beautiful 13th century church in the oldest part of the country and which includes a part of the house, storage rooms and cellars . From that moment Armand Rousseau started selling his wines in bulk to local wholesalers. The purchase of new vineyards, such as Charmes Chambertin, which took place in 1919, Clos de la Roche and Chambertin in 1920 and 1921, and the decision to bottle their most prestigious wines, as well as selling them directly to customers, fully illustrates the farsightedness and ambition of the founder of the Rousseau estateDomaine Armand Rousseau affonda le sue radici agli inizi del ventesimo secolo quando Armand Rousseau, all'età di 18 anni e provenendo da una famiglia di piccoli proprietari, composta principalmente da viticoltori, bottai e commercianti di vini locali, si trovò ad ereditare diversi appezzamenti di vigneti in Gevrey-Chambertin.
