Variety: 100% Barbera
Vinification: from the vineyard located in Castiglione Falletto in the Scarrone locality with south-east exposure and surface of just over one hectare. The age of the strains is over 90 years and the density is 4,300 plants per hectare. The already naturally poor production deriving from the age of the vines is further reduced with a strict selection that leads to a yield in wine of about 25 hectoliters per hectare.
The vinification was made with pre-fermentative cold maceration, alcohol fermentation of about two weeks in steel vats, with fulling, "délestage" and various pumping over. The fermentation took place at a temperature between 26 and 28 degrees centigrade. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation the skins were left in maceration for a further week. The wine is transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation Aging: barrels and barriques for 18 months for aging. The wine has been bottled without filtration.
