Details
This AOC Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru from the Domaine des Lambrays winery is a red wine obtained exclusively from single Pinot Noir grapes with vines of about 40 years old, it is a wine of great power, but also incredible elegance. The grapes are hand-picked, fermented in steel tanks and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new. The name of the Clos des Lambrays vineyard dates back to the fourteenth century, the property was divided between 74 owners after the French Revolution and was not reunited until 1868, after many vicissitudes, in 1981, it was finally designated as Grand Cru. Many think it is a monopole, but in reality a very small plot of this cru (we are talking about a fifth of a hectare) is currently owned by the Domaine Taupenot-Merme.
